Teachers get laid off while private equity firms Apollo Management and TPG Capital lose billions of dollars from teachers (and CalPERS workers) retirement funds as a result of the Harrah's/Caesars Entertainment purchase in Jan. 2008. What were the teachers (CalSTRS) thinking?
